Realism Portraits are painted as close to the original photo as requested. Many people like to keep the moment true to detail, whether it be keeping elements of the room, the landscape or the clothing. Often these fine points play a big role in the mood and nostalgia of the time, yet there is always room for change. Some elements can definitely be altered or tweaked, such as lightening a shadowy face, eliminating objects or people, or closing in on particular faces. I can make better adjustments with higher quality photo references.
