The Wheel and The Lotus

Updated: Feb 16

Since childhood, I was always made aware of the incredible history of Ascended Masters; high frequency souls that have incarnated on Earth to teach the collective human consciousness about it's origin, potential and guide us to conscious enlightenment through teachings, lessons, and by the example they themselves have set.

Buddha is one of these Masters.

What has always fascinated me, is the ways in which every Ascended Master delivers their message; uniquely their own while still encompassing similar outlines. Rules such as:

  • Treat others the way you wish to be treated.

  • Love is the answer and the creator of all.

  • We are all part of a greater collective consciousness.

  • We have great potential, despite our trials and errors.

  • Life is everlasting and eternal.

In my perspective, Buddha is a master at teaching Unity Consciousness and our connectivity to All in Existence. He represents our eternal nature and exudes the principals of Stillness and Enlightenment through Mindfulness and Present Awareness.

I experience empathy deeply, and when I paint a subject, I feel the energy and nature of that subject in my heart. It is a method of anchoring light and the vibration of that manifested, or once manifested, entity. Whether it be a horse, a baby, a mountain, or a concept; there is an energy there that is palpable and it speaks to me. My decision to try my hand at rendering a personal vision of these Ascended Masters (as best I could) came with the acknowledgement of the shift that endeavor could potentially create with me. I knew in my heart that anchoring that energy would not be without challenge. Painting Buddha made me question my own sense of being and life path. His energy is one of great expanse and revelation; so was my heart and mind put to the test. Beckoned to let go and allow life to unfold at the Lotus does in its own beautiful rhythm and timing. Encouraged to create space for my thoughts to slow and my heart to expand. Gently pulled into becoming conscious of my own habits and excuses, I was learning more about my own untapped potential.

Needless to say, this painting was more than just oils and canvas. It was a gift. I am ever grateful for the opportunity to be in the presence of teachers and masters, no matter how it should appear. I believe this type of opportunity is available to all, and whatever your medium, teachers from the etheric realms are ready and waiting to share their wisdom and love with you.

About the painting:

The Dharmachakra, the "Wheel of Dharma" or "Wheel of the Law," is a symbol representing Buddhist doctrine and the dissemination of the Buddha's teachings on the path to enlightenment, since the beginning of the Indian Buddhist period. It is one of eight auspicious symbols.

The Dharmachakra is represented as a chariot wheel (Sanskrit: chakra) with eight or more spokes. The 8 rays or spokes represent the Noble Eightfold Path. Its general circle (chakra) shape symbolizes the perfection of the Dharma teaching. The hub represents discipline, the essential center of Buddhist meditation; the rim, which holds the spokes together, refers to the concentration (or samadhi) that holds it all together. *

The lotus flower represents purity, enlightenment and faith. The flower is considered to be pure as it is able to emerge from the murky waters perfectly clean.

The spokes represent The Eightfold Path:

Right Thought

Right Action

Right Livelihood

The Sanskrit writing represents the Eight Limbs of Yoga:
