My name is Teresa R. Brownrigg and I am a self-taught professional artist. I specialize in both Portrait Art, and Original Art pieces, but I am not afraid to dabble and expand my experience and reach as an artist. 

 

I have been painting consistently since 2013 and have not been able put down the brush since. It is my life craft and my passion. I love the language of color and form; it speaks to me on a super-conscious level. When I am painting, I try very hard to step aside and let the inspiration do the work.

It is important to me that my pieces convey the deep emotive waves that touch my heart when I am standing at my easel. This is the main touchstone to my portraits. I am in love with the unspoken stories behind the eyes of my subjects.

I am excited to paint portraits of all kinds of subjects. My commissions have included couples, families, children, babies, pets, boudoir, past relatives and landscapes.

​

I understand what it means to pay tribute and commemorate that which we love so deeply. When my clients view their portraits for the first time it is an emotional experience because they can finally see themselves, or their loved ones, through the dimensional doorway that is the loving hands of art.

 

It is my goal to create a passage for you to visit those moments in time and the sacred memories that wait for you there. I work very hard to awaken and reveal the life energy behind the eyes of every subject.

Original Work

My original work is an expansive vision that dovetails subjects such as sci-fi, mysticism, metaphysics, archetypes and symbology. My most recent series called 'The Ancestor Series' is an example of my multi-dimensional muse at work. Waking dreams of Goddesses and Beings from deep within the Galaxies would visit my sketchbook, and I just had to bring them to life. 'Mother Mnemosyne' is one of my personal favorites and she is one such inspiration. Inspired by the Greek Goddess of Memory, she hold the secrets and history of the universe. Her stare is all knowing and penetrating to the depths of one's existential spark. 

 

I am a very curious person, enthralled by the mysterious origins of the universe and the life that prevails under its eternal gaze. The ancient archetypes of all our stories; the symbolical manifestations and patterns that persist within our natural world; the emotional depths of the human soul; the delicate, yet infinitely persistent, balance of duality in all states of our non-dual and omni-present universe; the collective consciousness of our human race: these are my pillow talk and the spark to the fire that is my overactive mind.
